USC's School Of Social Work Endowed Gift Of $60M

LOS ANGELES (AP) — In one of the largest contributions from an individual to a school of its kind, the University of Southern California has been endowed a gift of $60 million by a longtime social work practitioner.

Suzanne Dworak-Peck studied at USC in the 1960s and has served as president of the National Association of Social Workers during her career.

USC says the gift, announced Wednesday, will name the school of social work after Dworak-Peck and be used to continue its influence on social work policy, research and education.

Founded in 1920 and the largest social work school in the world, the school has influenced national policy discussions on homelessness, aging and veterans' mental health and is a leader in the area of military social work.
