Undercover sting leads to arrest of Arizona man trying to meet minor for sex in Riverside County

Authorities arrested a man during an undercover sting in the Inland Empire this week.. 

Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Perris Station began their undercover operation online on Monday, posing as a 13-year-old girl, according to a statement from the department. 

They began to communicate with the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Arizona man Jason Sjullie, and maintained communication for two days, during which he allegedly expressed interest in meeting up with the "girl" to engage in sexual acts, deputies said. 

A meeting between Sjullie and the investigators, posed at the teenager, was scheduled for Tuesday. It was then that Sjullie was taken into custody. He was booked on suspicion of arranging to meet a minor with the intent of sexual acts, contacting a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts and attempting lewd acts with a minor. 

He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
