UCLA police investigating multiple reports of students getting drugged at parties

University of California, Los Angeles campus police are investigating two separate reports of students getting drugged at parties last week.

The first report was made on Oct. 5 at around 11:20 a.m., when a victim reported that they felt they had been given an unknown substance while attending one of three parties in the 500 block of Gayley Avenue two days prior. They believe that they were drugged after they developed symptoms "which they did not believe were from alcohol," police said.

That same day, a second student reported that they also felt that they had been drugged after they were handed a drink while at a party in the 600 block of Gayley Avenue. They did not believe the symptoms they were experiencing were due to alcohol or marijuana.

No suspect description was provided in either case and both victims are UCLA students, police said.

Both incidents are under active investigation, and while ongoing, campus police urge students to remain vigilant. They are advised to report suspicious activity to police, be alert and aware of surroundings, lock all doors and windows and avoid poorly-lit areas.

No further information was provided.
