Uber passenger hospitalized after being struck by gunfire in San Fernando Valley neighborhood

A rideshare passenger was struck by gunfire while getting dropped off in North Hills on Sunday, prompting an investigation from police. 

It happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of Columbus Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. 

They say that the Uber driver was dropping off a fare at the time when shots were fired at the vehicle. At least one bullet struck the female passenger in the right leg. 

At the latest, police say the victim is in stable condition after being taken to a nearby hospital. 

Investigators were unable to provide information on a suspect or motive and have not yet announced any arrests in the case.
