Two In Custody Following LAPD Pursuit Of Reckless DUI Driver; Ends With Vehicle Overturned
BELL (CBSLA) — Los Angeles Police Department officers took two people into custody on Friday evening following a pursuit that ended on Otis Avenue and Bell Avenue in Bell.
The pursuit began in Boyle Heights just before 11 p.m., when authorities engaged with a suspect wanted for reckless driving and supposedly driving under the influence.
While evading authorities, the driver passed through Vernon and other communities before ending up in Bell. The driver of the vehicle being pursued clipped the car of a person unrelated to the chase, causing his car to flip, bringing the pursuit to an end.
As the vehicle flipped through the air, it slammed into both an electrical pole and a large tree before coming to a stop on its roof.
