Tanker Train Derails In El Segundo
EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — A tanker train derailed in El Segundo Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or spill.
At least four cars jumped the track, and their undercarriages were torn out around 2:30 p.m. near Douglas Street and Chapman Way, according to El Segundo police.

El Segundo fire Capt. Evan Siefke said the train was coming from the nearby Chevron oil refinery, and the cars were carrying liquefied natural gas.
Firefighters were there to check for possible leaks.
Some areas around the tracks appeared to be flooded. But it was unclear if the derailment was rain-related.
Nearby businesses and residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Metro's Green Line between El Segundo and Redondo Beach was suspended in both directions for two and half hours.
The northbound lanes of Douglas Street at Park Place and southbound lanes of Douglas Street at Utah Avenue remain closed.
Alaska Avenue is also shut down for all east and westbound traffic at Hawaii Street.
The closures are expected to last until Friday morning.
