A woman led Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies on a wild Thanksgiving pursuit, driving a possibly-stolen bread truck on sidewalks in Compton. After smashing the truck into trees, deputies used spike strips to slow her down. She jumped out and tried to get away but deputies quickly caught up with her.
Stephen Sondheim, the songwriter called one of the most important figures of 20th-century musical theater, died Friday. He's best known for works such as Sweeney Todd and Into The Woods. He was awarded an Oscar, Grammys, Tonys, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Sondheim was 91-years-old.
The LA City Council voted Tuesday on a motion that would ban homeless encampments across the city. A committee will now work on a ballot measure to create a city-wide ordinance banning camping in all public areas if shelter is available and offered.
