1 Person Killed, 2 Wounded In Gardena Shooting
GARDENA (CBSLA.com) – One person was killed and two more were wounded when a gunman opened fire on a crowded Gardena street Tuesday night.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of West 141st Street sometime before 7:45 p.m. According to a police, there were several children in the street when a suspect drove up and fired at least four times.
One person was killed and two more suffered minor injuries, Gardena police said. No children were struck by gunfire. The deceased victim was not identified.
"They (the children) were all crying, they were scared, they've never witnessed anything like this before," witness Sara Castillo said.
Detectives do not have a motive for the shooting at this time or a suspect description. There are security cameras in the area that they hope will shed light on their investigation.
