Third Man Arrested In San Bernardino Store Owner's Murder

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A third man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a convenience store owner, San Bernardino police officials said Tuesday.

Jason Allen, 25, was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving the getaway car after the murder of 31-year-old Mitesh Patel as they robbed Bossey Drive-in Dairy, 1611 N E Street in San Bernardino on Friday night.

During the robbery, a round was fired, striking Patel in the chest, killing him almost immediately.

Allen is believed to have provided the handgun used during the robbery, which was recovered during a search of Allen's home, police said. He is being held on charges of murder, robbery, being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and street terrorism.

Desmond Stevenson, 25, and Robert Green, 23, were arrested Sunday in connection with the robbery and Patel's murder and face similar charges.

All three suspects have a history of gang involvement, according to San Bernardino police.

Anyone with more information about the robbery and murder can contact Detective Granado or Sergeant Sullivan at (909) 384-5615.
