Teen Parolee Accused Of Stabbing Man During Attempted Carjacking
FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old parolee reportedly stabbed and critically injured a man Saturday in a carjacking attempt outside a Fountain Valley supermarket.
The victim was walking to his car shortly before 9 p.m. after buying some groceries at Stater Bros., located at 11085 Warner Avenue, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.
The teen suspect confronted the shopper, demanding his car keys.
The incident escalated into the suspect stabbing the shopper four times in the torso.
Authorities arrived on the scene to find the victim badly injured. He was transported to a hospital.
Officers caught up with the suspect a block away. He was taken back to the supermarket and positively identified by witnesses.
The teen was arrested for attempted carjacking and attempted murder, and booked into the Orange County Juvenile Hall, police said. He was currently on probation for undisclosed crimes.
