Pomona Metrolink Station Reopened After Suspicious Package Removed

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A suspicious package was discovered Thursday at the Metrolink Pomona North station, which was closed, and all train traffic was stopped on the San Bernardino line, authorities said.

The item was discovered about 6:15 a.m., according to Ramon Montenegro of the sheriff's Transit Policing Division.

A sheriff's bomb squad was sent to the scene at 205 Santa Fe Street, Montenegro said.

At least one train was canceled, while others were delayed.

The closure remained in effect until after 9:30 a.m., when the bomb squad removed the item and declared the area safe. Rail passengers who were stopped were transported on buses, he said.
