Suspicious Package Forces Traffic Closures Near Hollywood & Highland Complex
HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — No explosives were found after a suspicious package discovered Monday in the heart of Hollywood prompted a response by a bomb squad and some evacuations in the area.
Authorities responded to the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue near the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex at around 9 a.m., according to Los Angeles police officer Norma Eisenman.
Evacuations were ordered and the Metro Red Line Hollywood/Highland Station was closed as a precaution.
The bomb squad determined that the item was not explosive and declared the area safe just after 11:30 a.m., Eisenman said.
No threats were received in connection with the incident, she said.
