Suspected Drunken Driver Allegedly Slams Into South LA Utility Pole
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said a suspected drunken driver has been arrested in connection with a crash that knocked out power to a neighborhood near South Los Angeles.
Investigators said the suspect vehicle was traveling on Slauson Avenue about 1 a.m. when the driver lost control, drove through the center median, and allegedly slammed into a utility pole near Edgemar Avenue.
The impact of the crash knocked a power pole over, and disconnected the power lines.
As of about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, power was restored to an estimated 700 homes.
The alleged driver was arrested on scene.
