Suspect Injured In Gardena Officer-Involved Shooting

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — A man was injured Sunday in an officer-involved shooting in Gardena, a sheriff's deputy said.

Deputy Lillian Peck of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said the shooting occurred about 3:53 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Gardena Boulevard.

Authorities say the suspect was rushed to an area hospital but his condition was not currently known.

No officers were injured, Peck said.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not immediately known.

Authorities said the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau was assisting Gardena police in their investigation.
