Suspect Dies Following Deputy-Involved Shooting In Castaic

CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a suspect has died following a deputy-involved shooting in Castaic.

No deputies were injured in the shooting, which unfolded just after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 31900 block of Castaic Road, authorities said.

"Deputies were involved in a shooting earlier," reported Stu Mundel, who was flying over the scene in SKY2. "We know that one suspect was struck by bullets."

First responders arrived on scene. The suspect was subsequently confirmed to have died.

It remains unclear what led up to the shooting.

Castaic is located in the northern part of Los Angeles County.
