Summer-Like Heat Persists For Southern California

LOS ANGELES (AP) — It's officially autumn but it will feel like summer in Southern California, as another heat wave moves in.

The National Weather Service says a high-pressure system will push temperatures into the 90s in many areas beginning Friday.

Valley neighborhoods could experience triple-digit heat.

Above-normal temperatures are expected for the weekend, but forecasters say no records are likely to be set.

The system is expected to move out by Monday, when temperatures could fall back into the 80s.
