Standoff Situation With Armed Man Prompts Lockdown Of 2 San Bernardino Schools
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A man was taken into custody Tuesday after a standoff that prompted the lockdown of two San Bernardino elementary schools.
The incident began around 8 a.m., when a man confronted a woman with a rifle inside a home in the 1300 block of Pumalo Street, officials said.
A SWAT team arrived and officers attempted to coax out the man.
The man tried to run from the home around noon but was taken down with the help of a police dog.
Jefferson Elementary School and Newman Academy were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
No injuries were reported.
