LASD Investigating Stabbing After Victim Seeks Aid At Compton Casino

COMPTON (CBSLA) — Authorities were investigating a stabbing in Compton Wednesday night after the victim sought aid at a local casino.

Los Angeles sheriff's deputies responded to the Crystal Casino, located at 123 E. Artesia Blvd., shortly after 8 p.m.

Investigators report a Hispanic male was stabbed with a screwdriver.

The casino's general manager, Edward Padilla, tells CBS2/KCAL9 the victim was stabbed under a bridge off-property and sought aid inside the venue. Padilla says aid was rendered by casino personnel.

The victim was hospitalized in unknown condition.

The stabbing suspect is described as a bald black male.

The casino appeared to remain open for business at the time of this report.
