Southwest Airlines Passengers Facing Major Delays At LAX Following Computer Glitch

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Southwest Airlines passengers at LAX were experiencing long delays Wednesday after a system-wide computer issue halted flights earlier in the day.

The computer issue was reported at around 12:30 p.m., and planes resumed taking off at about 1:30 p.m.

Passengers were experiencing long delays as the system was coming back on line. The terminal was chaotic, one passenger said.

"You're not sure where the line is, people keep sending you different places and you don't want to leave your suitcases," the passenger said. "This is crazy."

The delays weren't all bad.

Alice Didier said she was happy to wait in LA's dry heat before returning to the humidity of New Orleans.

"We're just lovin the weather because when we get back home we're in for it with the humidity," she said. "We'll stand in line here for a couple more hours."

Southwest fliers in October also faced big delays when the company's computers were on the skids.
