Small brush fire in Lancaster spreads to structures before firefighters contain flames

Structures damaged by brush fire in Lancaster

Firefighters were battling a brush fire in Lancaster that has spread to structures in the area before they finally gained control of the flames.

The fire erupted Sunday afternoon along 20th Street West and West Avenue L and quickly burned through six acres, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department crews. 

It was completely contained just after 5:40 p.m. 

Several structures were damaged by the flames, but the exact extent of the damage is not yet known. 

No further details were immediately available.
