Sketch Released Of Suspect Who Kidnapped UC Riverside Student
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday released a sketch of a man who kidnapped and physically attacked a UC Riverside student.
The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Sunday at the University Towers parking complex at 3500 Iowa Avenue.
A man grabbed the female victim and threw her into the back of his vehicle, officials said.
"She was tied and then something was placed over her head," Rick Cobb of the Riverside Police Department said.
Authorities said the suspect drove the woman around for about half an hour. The victim, a psychology major, was able to break out of her ties and reason with him.
"She was able to calm him, befriend him, and while doing that, he almost became sympathetic and decided to release her," Cobb said.
The suspect was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, with medium-length dirty blonde hair. He was dressed in dark clothing.
His vehicle was described as a 2009 or newer charcoal grey 4-door Nissan Sentra.
Anyone with information should contact police at (951) 353-7134.
