Silver Makes First Trip As NBA Commissioner

SACRAMENTO (AP) — NBA Commissioner Adam Silver says he's impressed with the proposal for a new arena for the Sacramento Kings.

Silver visited with Kings owner Vivek Ranadive on his first trip since taking over for David Stern on Saturday. He received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd for Sacramento's game against Toronto on Wednesday night.

Silver says the plans for Sacramento's arena are unlike anything he's ever seen. The design has yet to receive final approval from the city, but Silver is confident it will work out.

Silver also talked to Ranadive about a spring trip to the owner's native India. Silver says he anticipates a preseason game in India some day.
