Shooting leaves one dead, one wounded in Westmont area

One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting that happened in the Westmont area of South Los Angeles on Saturday evening. 

It happened a little after 7:15 p.m. in the 9400 block of S. Normandie Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. 

Deputies arrived to the scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, where one was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. 

He has not yet been identified. Nor has the other victim, who was in stable condition at the latest, according to deputies. 

Investigators recovered a weapon from the scene, but were unable to provide information on a possible suspect or motive in the incident.
