An 83-year-old man remains behind bars on Wednesday after fatally shooting another man outside of the Amazon Fresh store in Westchester on Tuesday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the parking lot of the store, located in the 6800 block of La Cienega Boulevard, at around 4:05 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He has been identified as 31-year-old YanCarlos Santiago.

Witnesses say that Santiago was in some sort of argument with a woman in the parking lot when an 83-year-old man shot him after a brief confrontation.

The suspect, now identified as Richard Strickland, is being held on a murder charge in lieu of $3 million bail. He allegedly came down from the balcony of a nearby apartment complex to intervene in the initial argument.
