Sheriff's Deputies In Perris Look For Carjacking, Attempted Murder Suspect
PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department in Perris are on the hunt for a carjacking and attempted murder suspect.
Deputies were called to the 23200 block of Cajalco Road in Mead Valley just before 5 a.m. Saturday to respond to an assault with a deadly weapon call.
On arrival, authorities said they located a 58-year-old male inside a business suffering from a stab wound to his neck.
Responding deputies, and CALFIRE and American Medical Response paramedics gave medical aid to the victim. He was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery. He is expected to survive.
The victim told officials that he was approached by a black male on a bicycle who attacked him, without provocation. The suspect fled in the victim's vehicle.
The car was discovered a short time later, abandoned, and damaged from a single-vehicle collision.
Despite an extensive search, authorities were unable to track the suspect.
The subject is described as a black male adult, approximately six feet tall, bald, wearing a white shirt, black pants, and white shoes.
