Officials: $20K Reward Offered For Murder Of Man Killed For Driving Red Car
DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — Officials Wednesday offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who was allegedly killed because he was driving a red car.
Tauruson McMillian, 34, was driving home around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4 when several shots were fired into his vehicle in the 1300 block of North Wilmington Avenue in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
One of the bullets hit McMillian in the head.
Authorities believe the victim, who worked for the city of Pasadena and dreamed of being a firefighter, was targeted because of his red Chevy Monte Carlo.
Pam Adel, McMillian's girlfriend of nine years, said she was on the phone with her boyfriend when the violence erupted.
"What I heard was like, a ruffling of paper, which I thought the phone had fallen between the seat. And I thought nothing of it," she said.
