Several Major Streets To Be Closed For West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Several major thoroughfares in West Hollywood will be shut down in advance of Southern California's biggest Halloween party Saturday.
West Hollywood's annual Halloween Costume Carnaval begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, but street closures will begin 18 hours earlier, at midnight for San Vicente Boulevard, between Santa Monica and Melrose Avenue, and Santa Monica Boulevard, between Doheny Drive and La Cienega.
Barricades will move east of La Cienega Boulevard to Croft/Holloway at 4 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, city officials said.
Those won't be the only closures, however. City officials will also be closing:
- All alleyways between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue starting at midnight Saturday to no later than 7 a.m. Sunday.
- Robertson Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from noon Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
- Almont Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from noon Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
- La Peer Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from noon Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
- San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Cynthia Street from noon Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
- La Cienega Boulevard between Holloway Drive and Melrose Avenue from 4 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
- Sunset Boulevard's east/westbound turn lanes onto southbound La Cienega Boulevard from 4 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
City officials say permit parking restrictions are being suspended from 11 a.m. Saturday through noon Sunday, and that parking meters on Sunset and nearby streets will be enforced. Parking and shuttle information is available on the City of Hollywood website.
