Seattle Pulls Away To Take 70-58 Win Over Northridge

SEATTLE (AP) — Jarell Flora had 23 points and nine rebounds, Isiah Umipig scored 24 and Seattle beat Cal State Northridge 70-58 on Saturday night.

Flora made back-to-back 3-pointers to start a 12-2 run which put Seattle (2-3) up 62-51 with 2:44 to play. The Redhawks led the entire way, even though Northridge (3-4) closed within 50-49 with 7:49 to play.

Flora was 5 of 11 from 3-point range, Umipig was 7 of 12 and the Redhawks shot 13 of 27 from long range. Jack Crook grabbed 12 rebounds and Seattle out-rebounded the Matadors 40-30.

The Redhawks held Northridge's leading scorers, Stephan Hicks and Stephen Maxwell, to eight and three points respectively. Maxwell had averaged 18.3 points and Hicks 17.2.

Ajon Efferson had 11 points to lead the Matadors, and Tre Hale-Edmerson and Landon Drew added 10 apiece. Hale-Edmerson also had six steals, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
