3 Robbery Suspects Wanted In Riverside Following Jewelry Heist At Mall

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Monday to locate three masked robbery suspects who targeted a jewelry store inside a mall in Riverside.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the robbery took place around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at Ben Bridge Jewelers located inside the Galleria at Tyler.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects smashed the glass counter with a sledgehammer.

Witnesses reported the noise sounded similar to gunshots.

Officers said the incident caused many to panic believing the incident was an active shooter.

According to police, the suspects fled from the mall in a vehicle, which was later located in the area.

At this time, it remains unclear what jewelry was stolen from the store.

No shots were fired during the incident.

The suspects remain at large.
