Police arrested a man on suspicion of killing his girlfriend on Thursday.

The suspect, 33-year-old Daniel Lynch, was booked on suspicion of murder in the killing of 29-year-old Amy Magpoc, according to Santa Ana Police Department officers.

They were first dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of W. MacArthur Boulevard at around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday after learning of a suspicious death in the area, said a statement from SAPD.

An acquaintance of the couple reported the incident after attempting to make multiple calls to both but they continued to go unanswered.

Officers found the victim dead in a bedroom. They have not yet released a suspected cause of death.

"Homicide Detectives, with the assistance of the Santa Ana Police Department's Gang Suppression Unit, located Daniel in the City of San Bernardino. He was taken into custody without incident," their statement said.

While their investigation continues, detectives ask anyone who may know more to contact them at (714) 245-8390.
