San Bernardino Police Investigate 2 Persons Of Interest In Student's Disappearance

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com)  —  The San Bernardino Police Department announced Sunday that they are investigating two persons of interest in the disappearance of Sahray Astina Barber, a local 22-year-old woman.

Investigators have conducted numerous interviews and have searched several locations for Barber, police said. They added in a statement, "As of [Sunday] she has not been located."

The department is investigating two persons of interest who may be involved in her disappearance.

The San Bernardino Police Department also said they did not believe her disappearance was related to two recent assaults of female students on or near the California State University of San Bernardino campus.

Barber was reported missing on March 9. Her roommates said they saw her leaving for work last Monday.

On Friday, 200 friends and family attended an emotional vigil for Barber.

KCAL9's Jasmine Viel reports some of Barber's classmates have planned to help in the search this week for the missing woman.

Contacted Sunday, Steve Barber -- the missing woman's father -- wanted to keep the focus on his daughter and not the persons of interest. He also told Viel he will focus on telling people who his daughter is.

Investigators are seeking the public's assistance. Anyone with information about Barber's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Al Tello at (909) 821-8507 or Sergeant Carl Williams at (909) 693-6665.
