San Bernardino Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A San Bernardino man remained in custody on Tuesday for allegedly killing a 62-year-old man during an altercation.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, 26-year-old Travon Jenkins was arrested on July 27 for assault with a deadly weapon.
Just after 4 p.m. on July 26, officers were sent to the 1500 block of East Highland Avenue for report of a possible strong arm robbery that had just occurred.
Upon their arrival, authorities learned an altercation occurred between Jenkins and another man, who was later identified as Mario Geometti, of San Bernardino.
A preliminary investigation revealed Geometti fell as a result of the altercation, and struck his head on a cement curb.
Paramedics transported him to a hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
Geometti was then transferred to another medical facility for hospice care. Hospice officials said he passed away on Monday.
The case was submitted to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office for review, and charges were filed.
Jenkins is being held at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department West Valley Detention Center on violation of murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
