Fontana Man Killed In Quadruple Shooting At San Bernardino Liquor Store

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA) — A Fontana man was killed Friday after a quadruple shooting in front of a San Bernardino liquor store.

Gunshots erupted in front of King Tut Liquor, 279 W. Baseline St. at about 11 p.m. Thursday. Alize Ross, 20, of Fontana was declared dead at the scene.

KCAL9's Tina Patel spoke to Serena Hill. She held Ross' hand until help could arrives. She told Patel she can't bring herself to talk about the incident.

An officer was flagged down by a citizen, who reported the shooting. Police say a group was hanging near Baseline Street and Waterman Avenue when someone got into an argument with a security guard. A fight broke out moments later, then the gunman drove up, got out and started shooting.

By the time the officer arrived on the scene, the suspect was already gone. Two people from the scene were taken to a hospital, and a third called 911 for help.

Family members who came to the scene said Ross was not in a gang.

Hill said, "He was an innocent bystander. And there's nothing else I can say."

Linda Roach had only recently met Ross but said she liked him immediately.

"We hit it off pretty good," she says, "He's intelligent, smart. Just God bless the family."

Ralph Guadarrama said he spent part of the day with the victim's family praying and trying to help them make sense of the tragedy.

"Really heartbroken. People were crying, it was kind of like they were in shock," he says.

Police will comb through video footage from the strip mall's several security cameras to try and find the killer.
