Report: Sterling Surrenders Control Of Clippers To Wife
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Clippers owner Donald Sterling has agreed surrender control of the team and allow his wife to negotiate its forced sale, ESPN reports.
Shelly Sterling and her lawyers have been reportedly negotiating the NBA since her husband was banned for life last month.
Just an hour after the ESPN report, LA Times reported the only way she will sell the team is if the NBA will let her "retain some ownership."

The 80-year-old was allegedly recorded making racist comments about African Americans to girlfriend V. Stiviano. The tapes later went public.
The NBA has filed charges to terminate Sterling's ownership of the Clippers and issued the following statement in response to the report.
"We continue to follow the process set forth in the NBA Constitution regarding termination of the current ownership interests in the Los Angeles Clippers and are proceeding toward a hearing on this matter on June 3."
Sterling's lawyers have requested a three-month extension on the hearing, however, it was denied by the league.
