Lockdown lifted at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms after weapon was 'inadvertently discharged'

The MAGTF Training Command/Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms was temporarily placed on lockdown Monday after a report of shots fired at the facility.

The facility's Provost Marshals Office responded to the situation, which was first reported just after 8:50 a.m.

The MCAGCC Shelter In Place order was lifted at 12:20 p.m.

The Combat Center said, "the installation is secure and base personnel are free to resume activity."

The center later confirmed that the shot fired was a weapon that was inadvertently discharged. 

No injuries were reported.
