Report: Blake Griffin To Sign Long-Term Deal With Clippers

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Sources close to Clippers forward Blake Griffin are reportedly saying that he intends to re-sign with the organization despite being able to become a free agent next off-season.

According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, both head coach Doc Rivers and team president have mutual feelings, saying they believe Griffin will retire as a member of the Clippers.

Sources close to the situation say win or lose next season, Rivers is not open to trade talks on Griffin or Paul - who are both eligible to become free agents after the season - and that he's not worried about either player walking away in July.

Griffin averaged 21.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in the 35 games he played in last year for the Clippers.
