Report: Ben Affleck Under Investigation For Card Counting In Vegas
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — RadarOnline.com reported Friday that actor Ben Affleck was under investigation for allegedly counting cards in Las Vegas casinos.
They reported exclusively that "an all-points bulletin has been issued to Las Vegas' biggest casinos accusing notorious gambler Ben Affleck of card counting."
The online gossip site went on to say that Affleck was barred from play shortly after 10 p.m. at the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas on April 28.
The alleged card counting came during a game of blackjack, said RadarOnline.com.
One of the site's reporters, Alexis Tereszvuk, said Affleck was caught "caught cheating in two Vegas casinos."
And while she affirmed the practice is not illegal, "it is very much frowned upon."
CBS2's Bobby Kaple spoke to a former professional gambler who has also been kicked out of several blackjack tables, as well.
Chris McKinlay said Affleck was "trying to extract the maximum amount of money possible from the casino as quickly as possible."
He also explained to Kaple how the practice of counting cards works.
The Hard Rock Casino issued a statement late Friday saying, "Mr. Affleck, a valued guest of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time."
