Red, Silver Are Top Colors At Golden Globes
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — There were a lot of red gowns on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday afternoon, although silver also appeared to be a popular color choice.
KCAL9 entertainment reporter Suzanne Marques spoke to a number of the celebrities as they arrived at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday.
Those wearing silver included Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Beckinsale and Emma Stone. Among those in red were Heidi Klum, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Helen Mirren, with Miren also wearing a pin on her lapel to celebrate free speech.
While the Golden Globes are considered a predictor of Oscar nominees and winners, the Red Carpet and show are much more laid-back.
"It's fun, it's exciting, it's a great party," Best Supporting Actor nominee Collin Hanks said. "There's free booze, and apparently they are just giving it out here on the Red Carpet, which makes me laugh."
"It's electric, the energy is really electric," added Best Director nominee Ava Duvernay.
"It's my first time here, and I'm just trying to really soak in every moment," said actress Danielle Brooks of "Orange Is The New Black." "And I think once I get in there, I'm really going to be like, 'This is it.'"
Best Supporting Actress nominee Allison Janney, and Gina Rodriguez, who was named Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical television show for "Jane The Virgin," showed off diamonds they had borrowed for the night.
Marques said her favorite fashion story of the night came from George Clooney, who confessed backstage that he was wearing his wedding tuxedo.
