Rancho Cucamonga 2-car crash leaves 1 person dead

Deputies investigate a deadly wrong-way Rancho Cucamonga car crash

One person is dead after a wrong-way crash on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga early Wednesday morning.

A two-car crash happened just after midnight, where a Tesla sedan, driven by Cameron Morrison, 23 was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Avalon sedan, driven by Brandon Bahner, 33.

Authorities said as Bahner's Avalon traveled west in the eastbound lanes of Foothill Boulevard, Morrison's Tesla traveled east, and as Morrison approached the intersection of Haven Avenue, his vehicle crashed head-on into Bahner's vehicle.

Bahner was pronounced dead at the scene and Morrison was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Eastbound lanes of Foothill Boulevard just before Haven Avenue were closed during the seven-hour investigation, at the peak of the morning commute.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
