Raiders Claim LB Armstrong Off Waivers
ALAMEDA, Calif. (CBSLA.com/AP) — The Oakland Raiders have claimed Ray-Ray Armstrong off waivers from the St. Louis Rams to upgrade their depleted linebacker position.
The Raiders placed linebacker Kaluka Maiava on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday with a hamstring injury to make room for Armtrong, who has been in the league for two seasons.
Two of Oakland's starting linebackers are already hurt with Nick Roach out since August with a concussion and Sio Moore having missed two games with an ankle injury.
Armstrong joined St. Louis as an undrafted free agent out of Miami in 2013 and played all 16 games as a rookie. Armstrong has played four games this season and has been almost exclusively used on special teams.
