Raider Fans Rally In Support Of Moving Team To LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Raider fans demonstrated outside the L.A. Coliseum Saturday as a reminder that theirs is the perfect NFL team to bring back to Los Angeles.
Just a day away from this year's Super Bowl, the fans also wanted to commemorate the Raiders' 1983 Super Bowl win at the Coliseum.
"We're here to show support for the only team that belongs in the City of Los Angeles and the only team that brought a Super Bowl, and it's the Raiders," fan Ace Okeke said.
"We're going to create jobs, we're going to put people to work, we're going to help support the businesses in our economy. We're here to show support and show that it's a family event," Okeke said.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said at a news conference this week, "There have been no determinations of us going to Los Angeles,"
Two weekends ago, the Southland booster club for the Rams held a rally with hopes of luring the team from St. Louis to L.A.
The NFL says moving a team, regardless of whether there's a stadium ready, is no easy feat. They say no teams are scheduled to transfer cities in 2015, and that 2016 is the soonest that could happen.
