Pursuit Suspects Allegedly Break Into Homes Trying To Evade Beverly Hills Police
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A man and a woman who led police on a car chase from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles were taken into custody Wednesday.
The chase began about 8:30 a.m., when Beverly Hills police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in an alley along the 100 block of N. Swall Drive, according to police.
The car sped off as officers approached, and the chase led to the area of Roxbury and Montemar drives in the city of Los Angeles, according to Beverly Hills Police Sgt. Max Subin.
A collision occurred at Doheny Drive and Burton Way, but the suspects continued to flee, police said.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the suspects got out of their vehicle and fled into a neighborhood near the Hillcrest Country Club, Subin said.
Police say the suspects broke into three homes along the 1500 block of Roxbury while trying to evade authorities.
They were taken into custody a short time later after police dogs helped sniff them out, according to KNX 1070's Jon Baird.
The suspects were expected to be booked on suspicion of residential burglary and evading arrest, Subin said.
Their names were not immediately released.
