Public's Help Needed To Identify Torrance Bank Robber
TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — The public's help was sought Monday to identify a man who robbed a bank in Torrance last month.
Police say the man got away with $3,000 after robbing a Farmers Bank, 22400 Hawthorne Blvd., with a demand note on Dec. 4. He was last seen fleeing out the back of the bank and running eastbound on 224th Street toward Ward.
Detectives say the suspect then went to a nearby store and shopped for several hours immediately after committing the robbery, changing clothes twice from a red shirt, to a darker colored shirt, then finally to a white shirt.
The robber is described as a white man, 38 to 42 years old, between 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-5, with brown hair and brown eyes, clean shaven, clean cut, with a large nose and a mole on the left side. He wore a white baseball cap, red long-sleeved T-shirt or lightweight sweater, dark skinny jeans and black Converse shoes.
The suspect vehicle was described as possibly a white Honda or Toyota 4-door with a sunroof.
