Proposal For Toll Lanes On 405 Freeway In Orange County Moves Forward

WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — An agreement with Caltrans to build a toll lane on the 405 Freeway in Orange County will head to the board of the OC Transportation Authority.

The agreement was tentatively approved Monday by six members of the Regional Planning and Highways Committee, a subcommittee of the OCTA board.

The toll lane would run in both directions of a 13-mile stretch between 73 toll road and the 22 Freeway.

The project also includes the addition of another regular lane in both directions from Euclid Street to I-605.

According to the draft deal, a combination of state and federal funds and future tolls will pay for the project.

Excess toll revenue would go towards local maintenance and improvements.

The OCTA board will review the agreement on Monday.
