Magnitude 3.0 earthquake strikes Los Angeles suburb

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake rocked buildings in a Los Angeles suburb Tuesday night. 

According to the United States Geological Service, the earthquake struck nearly a half mile away from the city of Bell at about 9:40 p.m. 

A USGS map indicates shaking was felt as far north as the San Fernando Valley and south to Orange County.

The Bell Police Department said the department had not received any calls regarding property damage or injuries.
