Powerball Jackpot Soars To Estimated $257 Million
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — No. You didn't win.
Then again, no one else did either.
No tickets matched all six Powerball numbers in Saturday evening's draw. The jackpot Saturday was $221 million.
With no tickets matching all six numbers, the jackpot for next Wednesday's draw should be, at least, $257 million, lottery officials said.
The numbers drawn Saturday were 28, 30, 35, 58. 59 and the Powerball number was 15.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 175,223,510, according to the Powerball website.
For getting five numbers (and failing to match the Powerball) three people (one each in Maryland, Minnesota and Arizona) will get $1 million each.
Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Draws for the $2 game are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Powerball starts at $40 million and rolls over every time there is no jackpot winner. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013.
