Police seeking hit-and-run driver behind wheel of Porsche that killed pedestrian in South LA
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who was behind the wheel of a Porsche when they hit and killed a 40-year-old man in South Los Angeles early last month.
It happened on Jan. 7 at around 7:20 p.m. near 53rd Street and Figueroa Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say that the pedestrian, identified as Jose Martinez, was walking in a crosswalk eastbound on 53rd when he was hit by a silver Porsche Cayenne that was heading north on Figueroa.
Instead of stopping to help Martinez, the driver continued on leaving, him to die at the scene.
As with any fatal hit-and-run in the city of Los Angeles, a standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered for anyone who has information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
