Police seeking additional victims of sexual assault suspect who lured girl to Riverside park
Police are seeking additional victims of a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl after convincing her to meet him at a park in Riverside in April.
Anthony Eduardo Lozano, 21, has been charged with three counts each of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and contacting an underage person to perpetrate a sexual offense. He was also charged with two counts of lewd acts on a child and one count each of arranging to meet a minor for illicit purposes, attempted used of a child to produce obscene matter and possession of child pornography, according to the Riverside County Superior Court.
He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment earlier in September, at which time the judge scheduled a felony settlement conference for October 15, prosecutors said.
Lozano remains behind bars and is being held without bail.
He is accused of communicating with a 12-year-old girl from Los Angeles in April, possibly via social media, according to the Riverside Police Department. They say that he persuaded her to meet him at Rutland Park in Riverside and arranged a ride share service to transport her from her home to the meeting place.
"The suspect met the victim and sexually abused her," police said.
After the incident, the girl returned home and reported the alleged assault to Los Angeles police, prompting a months-long investigation.
Detectives were able to identify Lozano as the suspect and served an arrest warrant at his home on Randolph Street in August, according to RPD.
During the warrant, they also discovered evidence that Lozano had likely communicated with other young girls who possibly fell victim to him, police said.
Due to this, investigators believe that there may be additional victims and are asking anyone who may know more to contact them at (951) 353-7950.
