Police Seek Man Suspected Of Robbing Union Bank Branch In Irvine

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday searched for a man suspected of robbing a bank in Irvine.

Around 10:40 a.m., officers were sent to a Union Bank branch located in the 5300 block of University Drive for report of a holdup, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Police said a male robbery suspect demanded cash, but did not display a weapon.

The suspect fled from the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives described the suspect as an African American man who is believed to be in his 50s and has a husky build.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with blue scrub pants, a blue baseball cap and white tennis shoes.

No injuries were reported.
