Police Seek Driver In Crash Who Left Motorcyclist To Die

RESEDA (CBSLA.com) — Police are trying to find the driver of truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a motorcyclist.

The accident happened at Van Owen Avenue and Tampa Street in Reseda at 7 a.m. Wednesday. A 19-year-old man was on his way to work when he slammed into the truck making a left turn in front of him. The driver took off, police said.

A nearby 7-Eleven owner says he sees accidents here every week, mostly on left turns.

The vehicle is a large white pickup with a dump-truck style flatbed. It has dual rear tires, a blue logo and will have damage on the passenger side. Security video captured an image of the truck moments after the crash.

Since the accident is a hit-and-run fatality, tipsters could be eligible for a $50,000 reward.

If you wish to submit a tip anonymously you may do so through www.LACrimestoppers.org or by calling 1-800-222-8477, or the LAPD.
